Well done movie. Plays out realistically unsettling as the bigger questions aren't answered; you and all your friends could die together and not even know who caused it, if it's the end of civilization or just your city. It covers the characters that aren't accounted for in most apocalypse movies -- typically either the first to die (from belting Kelly Clarkson to being plucked from their car and dragged head first by an alien) or the ones leading a band of brothers to safety in Iowa, which if happened in reality, would be most of us. The time they predict they will die is enough time to know it's happening, but not enough go be a hero. The relative casualness of such an extreme movie genre plateaus the tension that puts you in the movie unsure if "is this really 'the end'?" Refreshing armageddon movie.

There are have been many independent films coming out that feature a rag-tag group of friends hashing out their issues in an enclosed space, a la bottle episodes of TV shows. Unlike those films, this film correctly edges humor in its characters, and also explores really interesting and thoughtful issues. The characters are unexpectedly fun to watch and their reactions to the end of the world are exceptional and downright laughable. Cross entertains throughout, but especially at the end, Ferrara is perky but negative towards the outcome, Hayes and Miller have superb chemistry as a separated married couple, and Stiles' remains shamelessly self-serving, a radical idea to the other characters. It's possible that the adorable ending also pushed me into liking this film, as it was unexpected. It's great to see a film be okay with not resolving everything, not tying up its character development into a little bow and yelling, "Done!" Of all the indies I've watched lately, this one actually surprised me, which is hard to do.

one of the good things about Netflix is all these movies I've never heard of that have people or faces in them I recognise from TV and this was one of those film. It's a disaster is a nice dialogue driven movie about a group of friends in the midst of relationship changes who are suddenly faced with this own deaths. Funny movie, and nice performances.
