Eleanor Parker (voice dubbed by Eileen Farrell) gives a moving, Oscar-nominated performance as opera star Marjorie Lawrence; the story and screenplay won an Oscar.

Eleanor Parker is always amazing - the only downside to this film is the wooden performance from Glenn Ford.

An okay tale of Marjorie Lawrence. The flight out of Australia and a very country type of existence to the world of America. It nonetheless doesn't seem to stick with you very long after seeing the film.
