Even if you're not a Super Coen Bros fan, stick with this one and you will be rewarded. Strong on the metaphor and intelligent on the odyssian saga, this film begets discussion and interpretation. Rich with meaning, and concurrently impressive on an aesthetic wavelength, there is so much here to be transfixed by. The music is beautifully melancholic, the lead performance notable, and the mood mesmerizing.

The movie's rich central figure feels like he's lost in a sea of phonies. If only the movie didn't feel that way too.

I loved this movie, but then, I've always loved folk music. And seeing one week into his life in the early 60's, was so fun, funny, and totally memorable. I would nominate this movie for picture of the year.
