I donÂ´t usually like Jane Campion since I find her a bit too busy being aesthetic in a Kieslowski kind of way. Despite that this is a film that any female (at least the ones that I know) ought to like. ItÂ´s both tacky, naive and brutal in a strange way.

A surprising character change for Meg Ryan which must have been quite a challenge. Formulaic "killer thriller" but still suspenseful and kept my interest. Not for the meek viewer - lots of in-your face viloence. Worth the rental.

"Wow" is all I can say! This film left me stunned, like anesthesised for a while. Liked the stylised filming (although the camera could have been less shaky now and then!), and the aesthetics of it. A sombre poetic and unsettling film.

I've always loved Jane Campion's cinema and the way she films women which is unique. Meg Ryan is wonderful and gives one of the best performances of her carreer and Mark Ruffalo is simply brilliant. The atmosphere is dark and heavy, it's a captivating thriller.
