[font=Century Gothic]Tuesday, March 9, 2004[/font] [font=Century Gothic]Movies are just grand. Lately I've been into many Mark Ruffalo movies. I find different actors that I'm drawn to and watch their movies. I saw In the Cut and realized he was a great actor. He is very underestimated as a actor however. In the Cut was great though. Other movies that he is in are really good too (ie: My Life Without Me, You Can Count On Me, and Xx/Xy - i love them all):fresh: [/font] [font=Century Gothic]xLeslie[/font] [font=Century Gothic][/font]

This may be Meg Ryan's strongest performance. Jane Campion's moody thriller based on the novel by Susanna Moore requires repeated viewings in order to appreciate it for all its lurid glory. The ending seems a little forced but the acting is so strong that it makes up for what the screenplay lacks. The cinematography compliments the films mature subject matter. Not for all tastes.

Life'll kill ya, lamented the late Warren Zevon. Love'll kill ya, amends Campion in a film which shows that what long has been good for the goose can cut both ways.

I love this film. It's dark, erotic and yet visually beautiful to watch. Meg Ryan is unrecognisable. Superb acting all around. Great twisty plot.
