Fairly boring. Some of the setups for conflict were nice, though.

There's a bit too many plotlines going on here

Great movie and cast. The Chicago fire scenes look great for the time it was made.

Okay melodrama with Tyrone Power and Alice Faye. Liked the story although it took forever to get going, spirited performances from the cast, and the special effects were utterly terrific and dazzling. Love Faye but the songs were garbage, the story was weak and I really didn't care about the plot because really who cares about that sort of thing in what's supposedly a effects driven disaster film. Recommended if you're a fan of the leads but otherwise don't waste your time.

The 20 minute fire sequence is remarkable considering it was made in the 1930s. Tyrone Power is a stunning lead, alongside Alice Faye and Don Ameche there is one solid cast here. Pure entertainment, I didn't watch it thinking it would be historically accurate or informing.
