Esta tiene que ser una de las mejores pelÃculas de la historia y una demostraciÃ³n de por quÃ© los maestros como Kurosawa, Welles, Kitano y Herzog no son vulnerables al paso del tiempo. Kurosawa toma una trama propia de la literatura policial, pero trasciende el suspenso para llevar la historia a una altura cÃ³smica, universal: los conceptos del bien y del mal. Esta obra logra lo que pocas hacen: atrapar al lector con una narraciÃ³n fluida y precisa, y al mismo tiempo incomodarlo con interrogantes sobre el sentido de la vida humana.

A perfect film in every way. It never missteps, not even for a second. Watching the film, you are very aware of how masterful every single frame is. It is a film made with absolute confidence, by a master of cinema. A new favorite.
