There is a plot to kill the king. Amazing scenery, fights and costumes. I like the vibrant colours and vast magnitude of the people scenes.

The word Beautiful is the one that fits this movie for me. The Photography it's just amazing, the colors are just brilliant, and so it is Christopher Doyle. And for the story, the script it's just amazing.

Absolute all star cast and crew. Easily the best movie with the theme of utilitarianism. This, along with Run Lola Run are the 2 movies that got me into foreign film. A brilliant story, breathtaking cinematography, traditional "enlightened" fight scenes that are marvelously choreographed. Zhang's finest work yet!

a visual stunner!! the choreography is wonderful and the aesthetic is very pleasing. i probably like the fabric choices most of all. it amazes me what the actors are able to do wearing so many layers of clothes blowing everywhere. zhang yimou is a genius!
