I saw this film when I was in LA and really enjoyed it! Norman Reedus and Garrett Backstrom both had superb performances. The story and the film direction were both great as well. I loved the way certain aspects of what happened were depicted. Not in a brutal or disgusting way but in a tactful way that makes this movie something everyone from middle school and highschool can watch and understand. It does a great job of showing that it isn't just the lives of the people hurt who are affected, but the local community and the whole nation. This is definitely a movie that parents should watch and talk about with their children.

Hello Herman The other day I viewed a screening for Hello Herman, directed by Michelle Danner at the beautiful Edgemar Center for the Arts two theater and art gallery complex in Santa Monica. The movie was unbelievably moving. At this day in age, where bullying is a problem infecting schools and universities all over America, and life is constantly being devalued, a movie with as strong of a message as this is completely necessary. Hello Herman follows the haunting story of Herman Howard, who after years of being bullied, executes a school shooting which killing over forty students. A liberal blogger and newscaster, Lax Morales, played by Norman Reedus, gets wind of the story and decides to conduct an interview with Herman. The story unfolds to reveal the consequences of bullying and violence. Each shot captures the value of every human life. All of the actors did a fantastic job of portraying honest characters. This alongside Michelle Danner's creative directing, comes together perfectly in this amazing film. Everyone should experience this fantastic film!

Not many movies have touched a nerve and left me thinking about them days later like this one did. It raised important and complex issues and unlike simpler, less provocative movies, it didn't wrap up the dilemma with a nice neat explanation and resolution. Life doesn't come with easy answers tied together with a neat little ribbon. This movie took the risk to explore some of the pressures and some of the ugliness that affect our youth, and society as a whole and it made me reevaluate my ideas of good and evil. I think it should be required viewing for high school students and I highly recommend it for all audiences over the age of 13.

Michelle Danner's "Hello Herman" was probably the most relatable family film that anyone will experience. It is a must-see film for every movie- goer. The plot, characters and scenes in the film are so real and shocking that it will get you up and out of your seat. The thought provoking questions that are answered in this film about bullying and violence will have you pondering on how a child would ever think to commit such a horrible crime. The consequences that are seen in the film are shocking, but deserving. It's a story of a bully, journalist, and boy suffers for what he does. Overall, I think Michelle Danner did a great job directing this film, and Norman Reedus' performance is amazing to say the least.

Released in 2011, Michelle Danner's "Hello Herman" film leaves us shocked with the things that are shadowing and happening in the world today. High-schooler Herman Howard faces many struggles and goes through life changing experiences that involve a massacre and leave him in a life or death situation. The movie explores why children his age would even think about gaining power through such a shocking tragedy. The scenes in the film explore the possibilities that could happen if bullying continues to affect children in school.
