Undoubtedly one of the most bizarre American movies ever made (and directed by Robert Downey Snr. no less), 'Greaser's Palace definitely bears a debt to 'El Topo' but even if it's not exactly 100% original it's still a 'mighty fine' way to spend 90 minutes and there is plenty here to amuse. Amidst the utterly fucked up goings-on, the dialogue is funny and there are some great one-liners. I'm not sure there is anything deeper beneath the surface weirdness but i enjoyed the ride all the same and arbis and the crotchety old irish guy are great. If you like weird shit then you will probably like this.

I've seen this a few times now, and while it's a must see for any fan of weird movies, I honestly don't think it holds up that well. There are a lot of great funny scenes, but I don't feel the whole holds...
