One of the best movies of 2009/the decade from one of the 2000s best new directors. Evolves naturally with tremendous love for the two main characters as they battle and contort their spontaneous friendship. A movie full of small, resonant moments which accumulate into a large meaningful whole.

The movie starts fast and the pace rarely relents. Goodbye Solo is almost frighteningly alive: Other filmmakers must wonder exactly how Ramin Bahrani packs so much personality in what could have been standard indie fare.

The Single most realistic cinematic experience I have ever seen, if that makes sense. The acting was brilliant, the screenplay was phenomenal. It does throw you right into the story but it works and allows the story to move along at the right pace, it never moves slow. The editing was phenomenal, I have never seen a movie like this be edited so perfectly. The cinematography and lighting were the most spectacular I have seen in any indie film I have seen recently. The directing was spot on. Basically the movie is tender,gripping,sad and fantastic. Please do yourself a favor and see this movie NOW.
