Taken together, these stories are a symphony of inconsequentiality, drained of tension and purpose until all that remains is a vague sense of collective ennui.

Seems to be not bad.... but it had its down ends and ups too

Sophomore writer/director Freeland doesn't quite feel like the host of this particular "garden party," but rather like the party's Sabrina, secretly spying from the sidelines.

I'm always one for a good indie about troubled youth. <3

Much like Crash, but without the blunt hammer of "racism is ubiquitous", Garden Party reminded me more of my experiences in San Francisco and NY than Hollywood. The strongest characters turning out to be April (how do you act enthralling? see here) and Joey Zane (an older Van Wilder look and act-alike). I hope to see them and their characters again in more mainstream roles.
