This movie could have been decent. I would say it had sub-par acting, but it's not like the actors can do much with such terrible writing.

A day-in-the-life type indie where everyone intersects in various ways, but this is not one of those "Crash" type pictures. Two characters we have been following separately meet at a bar and start a small conversation. Nothing serious, and things don't go any further. The titular Garden Party is where most of the younger characters end up at. Decent time killer.

Whether or not Garden Party is an accurate portrait of the shadow L.A. culture where the young, pretty and desperate can find quick rent money, this low-budget production never engages with its characters or stories enough to make you care either way.

Some of the stories were interesting but the overall connection was off. The acting wasnt bad, I think the fault here was the script.

Although it certainly left something to be desired, the movie was a good synopsis of trying to make it in LA.
