It's difficult to watch at times, but I think it is fantastic. I loved every part of the movie. I'm not sure what that says about me as a human, but I really don't care.

A darkly comic, and deeply disturbing and uncomfortable film. Funny Games is a commentary on violence in film, and the role audiences play in the issue. The film isn't just playing games with it's characters, but with us as well. By inviting us into the game, and directly acknowledging us the film makes us just as implicit in the murders as the two psychopaths (Who are two of the best psychos in film). Funny Games is expertly directed and written by Michael Hanake, it's shot by Jurgen Jurges, and is edited by Andreas Prochaska (both of whom do great at their jobs as well). The movie almost taunts its audience, as shots go on for what feels like hours, and most of the violence and nudity occur off camera. Like it or not, Funny Games is a brutal masterpiece that will likely stick with you for quite some time after wards.

The most disturbing film I've evern seen, it really challenges the viewer to ask why they're watching this film, and why they watch films that feature violence and torture. An intellectual, freaky, wonderfully disturbing film that manages to make the viewer recoil without showing much violence on-screen
