It is a great and scary movie it has good acting good death scenes and unlike most horror games and movie has good jump scares and it has Kevin Bacon. Overall it is a amazing horror movie and is a classic even though it can be obvious at times but is still one of my favorite movies ever.

Clearly a cash-in on the style that Halloween popularized, Friday The 13th is FAR inferior to that which it attempts to emulate. Halloween is suspenseful, edge-of-your-seat thrilling. Friday The 13th seems to have none of that. It loses a lot in never showing you anything of the killer, besides a hand at the beginning, until the big reveal. Another major issue is that while Halloween had a foreboding killer with seemingly no motive, Friday The 13th presents their killer the same way, until the big reveal, where we are told the backstory and "reasoning" for all of the horror. Because of this "hidden" backstory, the opening sequence seems confusing and pointless, as does much of the film. The combination of never showing the killer and trying to have an explanatory backstory really takes most of what make Halloween so good away from this film. What's left is a group of characters you don't care about and a series of fairly uncreative deaths. It's amazing that this film started such a huge franchise and led to the birth of one of the most iconic horror characters of all time.

Too slow to start, but last 20 mins are excellent. The actors are a bit hit or miss. Soundtrack is good.

This film marks a milestone in horror cinema: the birth of Jason and the curse of Crystal Lake. It's a cult icon, it has loyal fans, but it's nothing special, although it has given birth to a terrible franchise, which has haunted the cinema since this time. This movie does not have any difference from other camping slasher movies: an haunted camp, an ancient crime, a murderer with a large knife and a mask, naughty teenagers almost asking to be murdered in the bloodiest ways... everything is quite common in slasher films. The victims deserve to die, the murderer scares no one and there is not much mystery here. The cast is no use talking because it is poor and miserable. It's a classic? Maybe... but it's a bad film and I would not regret if it never existed.

Probably one of the most iconic horror movies of all time. The first Friday is the best of the series, proving that POV films were really the lifeblood of 1980s horror.
