Foreign Intrigue (1956)

Millionaire Victor Danemore, living on the French Riviera, dies suddenly of a heart attack. His secretary, Dave Bishop, wants to know more about his employer's life. Surprisingly, not even his young wife knows anything about her husband's background or how he earned his fortune. Clues lead Bishop to Vienna and Stockholm, where he learns that Danemore was blackmailing people who cooperated with the Nazis during World War II.

AQ very hard movie to find,I just got mine from Spain,wont play on dvd player but will on the computer,Love Robert Mitchum and backgfround music super! Post ww2 intrigue,One of my all time fav's.

I liked this film. I feel itÂ´s underrated. Yes, a bit wooden/studio at times but on the whole very watchable. Good acting. Thank God for the absence of stupid action and sadistic violence. It does contain some ideas and realistic dialogue, something you canÃ,Â´t say about many "modern" flicks. One has to remember what the world looked like in the 50s when the question of war crimes still was something very real.

A lax spy film. The tempo was fine, but the plot lacked zest and continuity. The writers could have done a better job on the lines as well. In any case the acting was very good.
