You know what, this movie was just plain weird. I really didn't like the ending, it cut from what you thought was going to be a climactic confrontation to some hypnotic red blurry smoke waves (You'd understand if you saw it.) I still don't know why it's called Fear X, it's not scary. It had a few tense moments but . . . that was it. All in all, if you're really extremely bored and this is on the movie channel, watch it just to see if you can figure out what the crap is going on. John Turturro does some really great acting in this movie and that's worth seeing. That's about all this one's got.

Glad to see something a bit different, even if it's a bit frustrating. After watching this film, I had no idea what the zark happened. I google'd around incessantly only to discover that much of the story is left open to interpretation... instead of the typical resolutions. So go into this film to enjoy, not so much to understand. It reminds me of a toned-down David Lynch film. The colors and transitions are great (similar to what Refn did in Bleeder). Turturo is terrific. There's plenty of suspense. Go into this one like your watching a Lynch film, and enjoy.

This thriller is ingeniously woven with motifs suggesting the difficulty of seeing and understanding truth, and substitutes psychological chills for commonplace gore.

I love Refn but this isn't his best work. The suspense is intense and well-build up and Turturro's performance is haunting but it all never really pays off in the end.
