SIFF 2008: Tropa de Elite es un filme impactante, tanto a nivel visual como narrativo. Es una historia intensa, que no titubea en tocar temas sumamente delicados y presentar la vida en las calles de Rio. Las actuaciones y el manejo de la historia son impecables y te mantienen al borde del asiento.

Beautifully done. I believe the purpose of the movie was to bring up some ethical issues. In a world of violence, corruption and drug trafficking is really hard to distinguish what's right from what's wrong. I had never thought of how much hypocrite the middle class could be and how badly some people could live, like they had no options but going to war. I'm not proud of the current situation, but I am proud of this production. This is definitely one of the great movies of Brazilian cinema.
