i thought this was a good solid movie. a lot like the truman show, but more personal and less political.

During one scene, after Shari (Jenna Elfman) has left, Ed (Matthew McConaughey) is in his video store and sees a woman in a wig and sunglasses outside whom he recognizes as Shari in disguise. In the background, you can see a poster for Vertigo (1958), which features a woman disguising herself in a similar fashion.

Far superior to The Truman Show (which came out about the same time as this) but, unfortunately nowhere near as hyped/advertised and therefore nowhere near as successful.

Well Before Its Time, Another Ron Howard Masterpiece Of Drama. It Shows Truly Where We Eventually Are Headed As Social Networking & Reality Becomes More Intertwined With Our Lives, Put Forth As Entertainment, Which It Truly Is Not. Peoples Lives Are Theirs & Theirs Alone.

Hilarious movie. I'm a Woody Harrison fan and he does well in this movie.
