Goldblum and Murphy outdo each other in their odd roles, each minimizing his tendency toward shtick and giving a convincing dramatic performance.

It's harmless fun, but it underutilizes Murphy, who's largely reduced to doing virtuoso variations on his iconic smile. It may not be earthshaking, but this calmly competent feel-good movie shows that a little sincerity can go a long way. A pleasant piece of commercial filmmaking, but as a satirical comedy, it's devoid of laughs and insight. Complex issues of ambition and consumerism taken to televangelic levels aren't truly addressed or resolved but simply tied up in a box with the message that love conquers all. Goldblum and Murphy outdo each other in their odd roles, each minimizing his tendency toward shtick and giving a convincing dramatic performance. VERDICT: "Rental" - (Negative to Mixed reaction). These films are only worth renting because of certain good things that are worth seeing, but are not worth paying at a theatre to see due to bad things that overcome anything good.

A wandering holy man and inspirational guru, G is targeted by a slimy home shopping network executive to sell products on the air. The executive, Ricky, is on his last warning from his ratings-hungry boss and hopes that G can convey the message, that in today's world, shopping by television can be a religious experience. Once he gets off the streets and on the air, G proves to be an over-the-top marketing genius. He takes a shopping network, and then the country, by storm--while at the same time helping to heal the soul of the jaded television executive who got him on TV in the first place.

well umn just seen this movie 4 the 1st time n think that this is a good movie 2 watch...its got a good cast of actors/actressess throughout this movie...i think that eddie murphy, jeff goldblum, jon cryer, kelly preston, robert loggia play good roles/parts throughout this movie.....i think that the director of this comedy/kids/family movie had done a good job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout this movie...its a good comedy/family/kids movie 2 watch with a good cast throughout this movie
