Publisher Will Atenton quits a lucrative job in New York to relocate his wife, Libby, and their daughters to a quaint town in New England. However, as they settle into their home the Atentons discover that a woman and her children were murdered there, and the surviving husband is the town's prime suspect. With help from a neighbor who was close to the murdered family, Will pieces together a horrifying chain of events.

dream house is a very good movie but i did not get why the neighbors ex husband hired someone to kill her when he could of done it himself so the person he hired did not accidentaly go in the wrong house and kill liby and her two daughters.

I don't know why this got such terrible reviews. If you don't think of it as a horror movie and a good ghost story it is good!

Once again, do not believe the critics on this one. A bit of a horror movie mixed in with the psychological drama and thrills of a suspense movie. I thought it was A+ superb. Daniel Craig is brilliant. As he always is.

Despite starting off as an intelligent, realistic treatment of the traditional haunted-house thriller, the movie gets progressively more ludicrous as it goes along.
