After losing his wife seven years earlier, the eccentric Dr. John Dolittle, famed doctor and veterinarian of Queen Victoria's England, hermits himself away behind the high walls of Dolittle Manor with only his menagerie of exotic animals for company. But when the young queen falls gravely ill, a reluctant Dolittle is forced to set sail on an epic adventure to a mythical island in search of a cure, regaining his wit and courage as he crosses old adversaries and discovers wondrous creatures.

Heartwarming family friendly action adventure fantasy movie filled with colour and detail entertains for a solid hour and a half. The visual effects work is very impressive throughout. It all looked and sounded very impressive on my 4k HDR 5.1 surround setup. I chuckled a few times and was quite moved by the emotional scenes and the positive message of love for all. While the screenplay and direction weren't groundbreaking for this genre, it is very well done.

Il film l'ho visto oggi con mio figlio di 7 anni eni suoi amici e genitori. Un gran bel film per bambini e adulti, Downey è il solito carismatico attore che riesce ad intrattenerti con uno sguardo, film divertente, grandi risate, veloce, bellissime scenografie e così puro da farti sognare.

Abusan del CGI, el argumento es muy infantil y mal estructurado. Si bien Downey Jr. actúa genial como siempre, el guión es asqueroso.

The studio did its best to taxidermy this mess into something presentable, but it’s hard to make a Doctor Dolittle movie if you can’t even understand the parable of the scorpion and the frog.
