Un pequeño grupo de personas, formado por científicos y militares, se refugian en unaDay of the Dead (1985) Sinopsis: Los zombies se han apoderado del planeta, y el número de humanos se reduce a uno por cada 400.000 muertos vivientes. Un pequeño grupo de personas, formado por científicos y militares, se refugian en una antigua instalación subterránea del gobierno. Allí intentan contactar sin éxito con otros grupos supervivientes. Mientras, los doctores investigan el origen del fenómeno, y de su posible cura a la vez que intentan domesticar a un muerto viviente al que mantienen encadenado. Opinión: Simplemente no me gustó, si bien el tercer acto es bastante bueno incluyendo escenas de buen gore, el resto es pura flojera, sobretodo los personajes, todos y cada uno de ellos me resultaron un verdadero fastidio por lo ridículos y patéticos que son.

Here, a pessimistic Romero dares to tackle the very essence of man’s inhumanity to man. And in the end, Day of the Dead is every bit as compelling and unsettling as its more lauded predecessors.

Day Of The Dead is more like Romero's scorching 1973 satire The Crazies, in which anarchy reigns and the very concept of heroes dissolves. The action at the end is lurid, made giddily disgusting by Tom Savini's amazing gore effects, and made gripping by Romero's gift for the cold logic of systemic breakdown. Still, some audiences may give up early, fed up with the shrill claustrophobia.

This is a solid movie by George A. Romero tough it doesn't turn out to be as good as "Dawn of the Dead" and "Night of the Living Dead". I found it quite ordinary without the energy and originality of the two I mentioned before. Anyway better than any of the zombie movies that are coming out today.
