Dark Phoenix (2019)

The X-Men face their most formidable and powerful foe when one of their own, Jean Grey, starts to spiral out of control. mala no es, buenísima tampoco, es cumplidora, parece un capitulo de la serie no es trascendental. Dentro de lo malo es que le falta acción, y el villano le falta peso.

This movie is amazing. One of the best marvel movies ever. Sophie Turner's performance was very good. I nearly cried in the end, the emotions were overwhelming. I expected less to be honest. I will watch the movie in cinema again for sure.

I actually thought it was okay. Sure, there was some weird direction and weird pacing, but for the first time, these characters felt and moved and behaved like the xmen I grew up with in cartoons and several comics. Oh, and of course it would have been much better without that horrible line about "xwomen", that was total cringe for me (a woman).

Not a great "X-men" franchise offering, but certainly not as bad as what many critics and fans have been saying. This character-driven superhero tale is somewhat overwritten when it comes to exploring (and frequently misinterpreting) motivations, incorporating contemporary social issue symbolism, and getting in touch with feelings, so much so that it tends to drag in the first half. The opening also gives surprisingly short shrift to the action-adventure elements, a shortcoming that's fortunately made up for at the back end. However, when it comes to the story's philosophical/metaphysical themes, the picture is spot-on, providing thoughtful viewing yet again in an unlikely context. In all, this release may not match its predecessors, but it does share valuable insights worth pondering in a well-acted, beautifully photographed package.
