No es Kubrick, pero es una buena segunda parte, ademas es excelente adaptaciÃ³n del libro

Wow, this is really one of the best sequels I've ever seen! Especially since it's a follow up to the grand daddy of all sci fi films, I have to give it a lot of credit for almost being as good as the original. Emphasis on almost. The cinematography was beautiful, acting top notch, and script was well structured. Excellent pacing. The story did not feel rushed at all. I really recommend this to any sci fi fan, but of course after seeing the original first.

This is my favourite if the Space Odyssey series (incidentally, I've read all of the books). I'm not knocking 2001- Stanley Kubrick's creation was a superb piece of cinematic material, but 2010 has a better pace for my liking.

Sure, this film lacks the imagination and showmanship of its predecessor, but it is still a very entertaining, above-average science fiction film, even if it is sorely dated by US/Russian hostilities. Nine years after the Jupiter mission in 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, the Russians have built a ship to go to Jupiter and investigate. Three Americans are along for the ride, as they know more about the first mission than the Russians do. Of course, strange things start happening in Jupiter space.

Don't look for this one to be like 2001. This is more like many other science fiction films from the 80's. It is really great though and follows up with what happened to David Bowman and the Monolith after 2001.
