Revealing age old truths about life and its meaning, Contact tries to comfort to civilization full of questions, and yet fewer answers. In the end we learn that the experience of not knowing and simply asking the questions, is a distinct feature of what it means to be human, and that maybe that isn't so bad.

Although it's impossible to believe that contact would occur exactly this way it makes it seem more plausible than almost any other ET contact movie.

Beautiful film and Jodie is wonderful. I have watched this at least once a year since it came out. I love John Hurt in anything.

Another excellent movie. Scifi? I'm not sure. This relates a lot to the WOW signal, a radio signal received by SETI in 1977. Based on a Carl Sagan novel and dedicatd to him, this Robert Zemeckis movie is a MUST see. Good cast, excellent story, fantastic visual effects and directing.
