One day we're going to all step back and examine the body of work this artist, Robert Zemeckis, has left us, and we're all going to applaud the legacy of his films, each of which has touched us in unique ways. This is such an example of that body. It goes to that place, and beyond - a transcendental experience.

Revealing age old truths about life and its meaning, Contact tries to comfort to civilization full of questions, and yet fewer answers. In the end we learn that the experience of not knowing and simply asking the questions, is a distinct feature of what it means to be human, and that maybe that isn't so bad.

i tried to watch the movie objectively (since I'm a for real Sagantologist) and still dug it. It's stylistic, gorgeous, well-paced, and asks all the right questions.

The film, based on Carl Sage's novel mixes science, drama, philosophy and politics perfectly. It really gets the viewers wondering about the universe beyond our own world. Definitely one of the best movies I've ever seen.
