Paris 1913. Coco Chanel is infatuated with the rich and handsome Boy Capel, but she is also compelled by her work. Igor Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring is about to be performed. The revolutionary dissonances of Igor's work parallel Coco's radical ideas. She wants to democratize women's fashion; he wants to redefine musical taste. Coco attends the scandalous first performance of The Rite in a chic white dress. The music and ballet are criticized as too modern, too foreign. Coco is moved but Igor is inconsolable.

Loved this movie. I never realized the dark side of Stravinsky with his family. The plot centers around The Rite of Spring, complete with bits of the actual ballet.

I really vote this film to be in my best 25 best films of 2010! It is very well directed film with perfection well written script that makes me actually feel for these characters! I actually felt so much goosebumps everytime I hear these wonderful music that elevate with haunting sense of piano music to define these truest characteristic of heroines, Heros, and villians... But the real magical gem of this film is the overlook or overshadowed by brilliant cinematic movements in the background to give empowerment of performance to make us understand what was love and tragedy is truly experience at is best times!

Definitely better than Coco Before Chanel. Anna Mouglalis has the potential to be the next huge French star.

Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky is a movie about an affair, an affair with no chemistry and no passion. Normally we would think that would be a bad thing. That it wouldn?t make any sense. But, because this affair involves Coco Chanel and Igor Stravinsky it makes plenty of sense. It?s a movie about a man who?s only true passion is his music, and it?s about a woman who so desires to be a strong, powerful and independent female public figure that she lives a love of showing no emotions to anyone. Anna Mouglalis performance is much colder than Audrey Tautou?s version in Coco Before Chanel. In the latter, we sympathize with Coco and have a much deeper understanding of her. In Coco & Igor, we feel frustrated with the character of Coco Chanel. We never truly understand her and at moments we may not even like her. This movie probably is the more common portrayal of Coco Chanel. I highly recommend you see both Coco Before Chanel, along With Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky. They are not actually related films, but they compliment each other perfectly.
