Coco Before Chanel (2009)

Several years after leaving the orphanage, to which her father never returned for her, Gabrielle Chanel finds herself working in a provincial bar. She's both a seamstress for the performers and a singer, earning the nickname Coco from the song she sings nightly with her sister. A liaison with Baron Balsan gives her an entree into French society and a chance to develop her gift for designing.

C'est tellement chic! Lovely cinematography, not sure how close to the real story but an interesting, focuses more on her personal life rather than career. Audrey is quietly & radiantly fierce.

buena peli, buenas actuaciones, un poco leeeeenta, pero interesante la forma en que desnudan la vida de una mujer que cambio el mundo d la moda... deja claro como se forman los trend-setters...trauma infantil+sexo+desiluciones amorosas= visionario rompemolde

Audrey Tautou plays the role of Coco beautifully; a strong minded, hard faced, classy, inspirational woman. A great film and a perfect choice for anyone that holds an interest in fashion. I found her story fascinating and liked how the film showed her gradually changing her style through visual inspiration. I was totally glued to the screen and didn't want it to end, but like previously mentioned its called 'Coco Before Chanel' for a reason. I also loved how whole film was in french, which kept true to Coco Chanel.
