City Heat (1984)

Set in Kansas City in 1933, Eastwood plays a police lieutenant known simply by his last name, Speer. Reynolds plays a former cop turned private eye named Mike Murphy. Both Speer and Murphy served on the force together and were once good friends, but are now bitter enemies. When Murphy's partner is slain they team up again to fight the mob.

Producers likely envisioned a blockbuster with this star pairing but this one never seems to come up in conversations about Eastwood or Reynolds movies. Not sure where the blame should fall but there seems to be plenty to go around.

Nothing too extraordinary here. Eastwood and Reynolds do make for a good acting team, but this movie really never lets them. Worth a watch.

I was severely disappointed at this film mainly because it was billed as a cant-miss hit and had two of the most iconic American actors in cinematic history in Eastwood and Reynolds and it STILL stunk.

Burt and clint and no buddy likes this, how on earth does a classic film get such a low rating. I don't understand people and their tastes. What can I say, the world has no taste, or understanding for anything great, it never has and never will. People just don't get it or understand or even know what is good now, or even before, its like a thing with people they just suck when it comes too taste and what is actually good. the two best 70s actors on the planet in a movie together.
