This one seemed to slip by quietly, but is easily one of the best films I've seen in years. Every character is given thorough development - and you can empathize with each one, which is very interesting as the various conflicts develop. Parallels can be drawn between each character - despite social status, morality or personal issues. It shows everyone to be human - through suffering, and glimmers of happiness. Amazingly, with such an ensemble cast, it is impossible to pick out any single performance above the rest. Well directled, with beautiful cinematography (some of the country shots look to be taken straight from a Constable painting), and supportive score which emphasises the emotional undertones, this is a truly compelling and exceptional film.

Not quite the British Magnolia it wants to be, Chromophobia's melting pot plot is too often little more than overheated melodrama. But aided by Damian Lewis's strong turn, it still manages some unexpectedly poignant moments.

800 ratings on IMDB? Really? only 800 people watched this movie (let's say a 1000), this is kinda weird. Under-rated movie by Ralph Fiennes' sister is pretty good. Since the name of the movie is Chromophobia, anything that had to do with colors was great. I find that 2 hours is a little long for this movie though. Really good actors, not sure to what extent the casting was perfect, because I could see other actors playing those roles except the one played by Rhys Ifans, he totally stole the show. Ralph Fiennes had a very limited character, while I never really liked Penelope Cruz and Damian Lewish, so fuck'em :)

Well executed and structured movie with strong acting all round and a moving story of betrayal and kindness. The two extremes of human behaviour.
