Another straight-forward 'thai fighting/stunts' action movie. Nothing new, just more people on screen. Boring.

The plot is half-baked, the characters are underdeveloped, and the acting is...well, uh... *ahem*... but if it's a whoopin' you want, longtime Thai fight choreographer Panna Rittikrai (ONG BAK, CHOCOLATE, TOM YUM GOONG) will deliver it in spades. While Rittikrai lacks the finesse of HK's Yuen Woo Ping (IRON MONKEY, CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON, TAI CHI MASTER), he makes up for it with the insane amount of energy and, well, plain ole ridiculousness he's willing to throw up on the screen. And just like one of his earlier efforts, you're going to feel really, really bad for his stunt team. It's at best a fast-forward-to-the-fight-scenes rental.

Welcome to one of the most intense martial-arts/stunt films made without CGI. Helmed by Panna Rittikrai, the bloke who wrote Ong-Bak, this fist fighter acts as a lesson in exceptional combat choreography. Not that it matters, but the story follows a martial arts team caught in an underground gambling death trap. Naturally, the only way to survive is to fight. The incredibly realistic smackdowns are mesmerising, including wildly creative cage-fighting scenes. Most impressive among Rittikrai's stylish arsenal are the long takes during fights, which emphasise the skill and natural fluidity of his charges. Unfortunately, the entertaining action sequences allow no room for any motion of competent acting, plot or logic.

For non CGI stunts, it gets a five. The plot had more holes than Swiss cheese but if you take it for what it is, an action movie, it's a solid movie. Some of the best/most ludicrous stunt choreography ever.

A bunch of Thai lunatics get battered, smashed and injured for your entertainment. The *painful* stunts are great, everything else is pretty bad. The bad guys (all look like 30 second to mars fans) seem to appear and disappear in the fight scenes. The last 20 minutes makes it worth a watch.
