Big Sky (2015)

Hazel suffers from a crippling case of agoraphobia - so much so that it causes a rift between her and her mother, Dee. They agree that Hazel will go to a treatment facility to help her deal with her fear, transported by a driver and specialty van from the facility. But when two masked gunmen attack them on the desert road, Hazel has to battle her fears so she and her mother can survive.

Director Grau seems to be making up the film as he goes along — never a good idea when tackling the sort of genre piece that requires building tension and some semblance of dread to succeed.

The mental issues plaguing Hazel (Bella Thorne) aren't the only disabilities on offer in a film that sometimes heaps a little too much onto the fire, but Grau and his cast are sincere in their attempt to capture her struggle with empathy and dignity.

Unfortunately, the movie leaves you with more questions than answers. Not enough action to keep viewers interested.

This is an example of when a good cast does not mean a good film. Couldnt wait until this movie ended.

Far from perfect and ok some questionable silly dialogue but otherwise a strong and bold performance from fairly newcomer- Bella Thorne (The DUFF). Had some tense moments and satisfying end- though could have been a bit better.
