My heart goes out to the piano teacher who is an intelligent woman with a lot of repressed anger and is self-destructive. The man who claims to love her insults her, hurts her, and eventually abandons her. The poor thing may never be healthy again.

A remarkable, fascinating, transgressive film. You can hardly bear to look sometimes, and you can't tear your eyes away. Haneke is one of the best directors working today.
