My first film by this particular director. I enjoyed the spaciousness of the takes, the camera lets us study the character's surface and ponder their depth. Reminds me a little of the Brown Bunny though you get the money shot upfront.

I'm in two minds about this one. The good points are the subtleties of the characters, the cinematography is great, capturing the city and its surroundings. The story is told slowly, and includes a few surprises. On the other hand, the acting (if you can call it that) is pretty bad. Marcos and his wife show no emotion or any body language to speak of. In fact the most movement you get from Marcos' wife is the nightmare-inspiring sex scene. I can understand having people that look like "real" people, rather than "perfect-looking" Hollywood actors, but it's nice to have some acting talent!

siempre me ha dado morbo una relacion de una fresa y su chofer....me gusta la actitud patriota de reygadas...

Nauseating to say the least. This film ouzes dysfunction both thematically and visually, even the fact that the director employed real people (opposed to actors) that have no acting abilities to have real unprotected sex with eachother shouts out dysfunction. There is nothing artistic about this film other than a perverse one dimensional performance.

Battle in Heaven is worth watching if only for its breathtaking photography of Mexico City.
