Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973)

The fifth and final episode in the Planet of the Apes series. After the collapse of human civilization, a community of intelligent apes led by Caesar lives in harmony with a group of humans. Gorilla General Aldo tries to cause an ape civil war and a community of human mutants who live beneath a destroyed city try to conquer those whom they perceive as enemies. All leading to the finale.

Meh it was ok, I guess a little better then a couple sequels before, I still liked part 3 and 4 the best (this being part 5 i think...)

The original Planet of the Apes franchise comes full circle with J. Lee Thompson's Battle for the Planet of the Apes, but if the film proved anything, it would be the risk of over-saturation by rehashing the same movie - albeit packaged with a different wrapping paper and ribbon - over and over again, without a good gap in between release dates for the audience to take a breather.

An enjoyable end to the series which begins to showcase the distrust between gorillas and apes and shows the early bond between human and apes. Its a good fun film that has a good solid end to the series, which ofcourse also comes full circle and leads onto the original film.

I didn't have a problem with this movie like everyone else seems to. It was nice to end an ape film on a high note for once. Plus it has bad ass gorrilla warriors.
