Barefoot in the Park (1967)

In this film based on a Neil Simon play, newlyweds Corie, a free spirit, and Paul Bratter, an uptight lawyer, share a sixth-floor apartment in Greenwich Village. Soon after their marriage, Corie tries to find a companion for mother, Ethel, who is now alone, and sets up Ethel with neighbor Victor. Inappropriate behavior on a double date causes conflict, and the young couple considers divorce.

Wherein Robert Redford plays my husband and I play his slightly crazy/nympho housewife who likes to make his life complicated. This movie harkens back to a time when life was simpler (there WERE housewives without children!) and Jane Fonda's decorating of their apartment was categorized as good. (I see it now and I think "Looks like a college student dorm room.") I love the whole scenario and would gladly take off my shirt and do a little egyptian bellydance to get this movie on DVD - my VHS copy is now useless.
