In this film based on a Neil Simon play, newlyweds Corie, a free spirit, and Paul Bratter, an uptight lawyer, share a sixth-floor apartment in Greenwich Village. Soon after their marriage, Corie tries to find a companion for mother, Ethel, who is now alone, and sets up Ethel with neighbor Victor. Inappropriate behavior on a double date causes conflict, and the young couple considers divorce.

The best thing about this movie to me is the old New York City scenery and vibe. The next best thing is everything else. I can watch this again and again and never get tired of it. Jane Fonda and Robert Redford are gorgeous together.

This was a VERY silly movie, haha, but it was entertaining and it has Robert Redford in it. Simple as that.

Neil Simon has certainly done it with this hysterical play. Everything about this was funny. The mother in law is a riot, who is terrified to let her daughter grow up, and is secretly searching for love herself. So pull up a chair, get some popcorn, prepare to laugh with this one.
