Structuring their modern tale around the Mark Twain narratives, the sibling directors find laughs, pathos, and some surprising storytelling twists, plus have a game cast to deliver it.

There’s an element of parlor trickery here that the movie’s never entirely able to overcome.

Stephen Holden 14 Jan 2016

This comic take on “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” and “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” is infused with a gleefully absurdist sense of humor while retaining a childlike sense of wonder.

Andy Crump 14 Jan 2016

A film that's as hilarious as it is beautiful.

Christopher A 16 Jan 2016

One of the best Mark Twain fan fictions of all time.
