A wonderful story about family, journeys in life, and the unexpected in life. Great indy flick!

There is some nice familial bonding buried in there, somewhere, but it takes too much effort to dig it out.

This movie isn't quite what it tries to be - a lot of the strokes are really too broad. But sincere performances, a sufficient number of authentically touching moments, and (importantly for me) a great road-trip feel, do add up to something worth seeing. I do recommend it. Its treatment of generational separation isn't all that nuanced, but it doesn't always have to be.

I borrowed this DVD only because I wanted to drool over Josh Lucas for an hour and a half :-) (one could drown in those blue eyes, and the rest is not bad either....). But this turned out to be a real gem: heartwarming, tender and funny, tackling some important issues without being pretentious. Watch, you'll like it.

This quiet drama takes a look at 4 generations of the Lair family men. With a pretty simple plot that reveals enough small surprises to keep your interest, this movie was better than I'd expected. I think there's definitely a level of analysis for male family relations that could be brought out of this film. All in all, I was pleasantly impressed.
