Bill Benson and Ted Adams are to appear in a Broadway show together and, while in Paris, each 'discovers' the perfect leading lady for the plum female role. Each promises the prize role to the girl they selected without informing the other until they head back across the Atlantic by liner - with each man having brought his choice along! It becomes a stormy crossing as each man has to tell his 'find' that she might not get the role after all.

Donald O'Connor has to be the most talented underused guy in the business. Other than 2 rather good songs and a couple of scenes(all with O'Connor), the music was worse than average, Bing's getting up there and has done much better, the girls were not engaging at all and it really just wasted too much time.

This has the title of the original musical. It has some of the music of the original musical. It even has a cast that would be perfect in the original musical. So what in the world did they do with the good old original plot?! Whoever rewrote this movie to have a completely different plot was a moron. It's not a popular movie and there's a reason for that, and it's the storyline. However, good dancing, good singing, and pretty decent cinimatography.

great movie! i love Donald O'Connor in this movie. he is such a good actor. Bing Crosy sings so well and dances great with Donald O'Connor! i can watch this over and over again! i have said that like on all my movie comment things. well, now you people know how much i love to watch old love movies. (well not all love movies) i love old movie with old actors! i absolutly adore them all!!!

while this isn't an especially original film, it's still wonderfully enjoyable. the characters were interesting, the relationships showed some semblance of depth (unlike many other of this film's musical contemporaries), and the plot and dialogue were engaging and entertaining. part Golden Age musical, part zany romantic comedy, part Cole Porter revue. really a fun movie.
