Genevieve Bujold is absolutely fantastic as Ann Boleyn, and certainly makes up for Richard Burton's portrayal of a meek loverboy Henry VIII who blames Ann for everything. A little clichÃ© at times, and at other times historically inaccurate (Henry VIII did not visit Ann in the tower, for example), it still is an excellent portrayal of the life of Ann Boleyn.

I think I always pick movies with good acting. Anyways, this film about Anne Boleyn is definitely worth owning.

The best historical drama of the forbidden relationship between the ruthless King Henry VIII and the stubborn Anne Boleyn. Does well showing how he started the Reformation in England over selfish reasons like his lust for Anne and desire for a divorce from Catherine. Great dialog and costumes!

Despite its historical inaccuracies, this magnificently staged costume epic about King Henry VIII's relationship with wife Anne Boleyn is one of the best period films from the 1960's. Richard Burton and Gnevieve Bujold are outstanding, with great support from Irene Papas and Anthony Quayle.
