Clayburgh is a wonder but Alan Bates was so good and so to good to be true that his performance throws some people out of the movie. Once again, their loss.

Intelligent and well made film starring Jill Clayburgh as a woman dealing with her husband leaving her. Great performance by Clayburgh and a very nice supporting role by Alan Bates. The second half isn't as good as the first but it's still a very good film. A nice score if a bit too 70s at times.

A time capsule of how divorce was handled in the 1970's, mixed in with women's empowerment.

Could not decide if I enjoyed this one or not. Were the 70's really that cheesey? All of the talk about sex seemed so stupid. Jill Clayburgh was excellent, and I found myself rooting for her.
