Glenn Close is really terrific in the title role. She captures every nuance of repression and sublimation in her character. Janet McTeer is also quite good.

Impresionante y triste historia la de este personaje llamado Albert Nobbs. Esta es una de esas peliculas en la que su mayor valor radica en la calidad interpretativa de todos sus actores. Empezando por Aaron Johnson(Kick-Ass), en un papel bastante alejado de aquella, siguiendo con una fragil Mia Wasikowska, deliciosa en su papel de sirvienta. Pero las dos absolutas reinas de la funcion son la gran Janet Mcteer, imapagable su momento de revelacion en la pelicula. Y DESCOMUNAL Glenn Close. Sus miradas, sus gestos su sufrimiento calan en cualquier espectador que tenga un minimo de sangre en el cuerpo. Pero es una de las peliculas mas tristes que he visto en mucho, mucho tiempo.

A thought provoking, emotional tale of a woman who makes a choice. It's not just good story-telling but really makes you think about what people do to live and thrive in the world where jobs are hard to find and survival is difficult. Especially for a woman in that time period were limited in choices of occupations especially in business. It made me think , NOT JUDGE but think and feel for this person as a person, gender became irrelevant as she told her story to Hubert. It was inspiring.....
