That the film manages to be touching without being maudlin, and to be smart without being mean-spirited, is perhaps what really seals the deal.

Once in a while a film comes along that is truly fascinating and beautiful with incredible acting. Albert Nobbs is one of these and a film I will watch again and again. An important film in which the actors really portray a reality of life for women in those times and the sisterhood that pulled them through. Triumph of a gilm and Glenn Close is outstanding. The emotion!

The tragic story about Albert Nobbs. A woman dressed up as a man to get work at a hotel in 19th Century Ireland. Good drama. Glenn Close doing great acting here.

Exceptionally played role as Albert Nobbs by Glenn Close.A delight to watch such a nice drama.

Glenn Close is really terrific in the title role. She captures every nuance of repression and sublimation in her character. Janet McTeer is also quite good.
