Cassavetes' best film, a masterwork with unforgettable performances by Falk and Rowlands.

Gena Rowlands performance as Mabel Longetti is essential for all aspiring actresses to see. She is haunting and unforgettable in the role of a lifetime. Absolutely fascinating to behold.

the perfect companion piece to cassavetes' opening night. gena rowlands gives perhaps the performance of her career in this flick.

I can't remember the last time I've felt so emotionally invested in a film. This was a tough one to watch. But it deserves a perfect score on acting merit alone. Although it was written well, and the directing and camerawork are phenomenal, Rowlands and Falk are unmatched.
