One critic said, "the filmmakers are less interested in solving the crime than in conveying the spiritual dynamism of the Hasidic community." That nails it. It's worth watching for that. The rest is pretty weak.

Despite the gross miscasting of Melanie Griffith in the main role it was quite an interesting movie but certainly no "Witness". I was glad that some thought was put into the ending also.
