Michael Stuhlbarg gives a tremendous performance, and the Coen brothers bring new mature and philosophical themes to the table, along with gorgeous cinematography and admirable editing. A Serious Man may be the best work out of the Coens

Not only the best film of 2009 but also the best film of Coen bros. Life is funny. It can also be painful and miserable. Things happen randomly, with no particular purpose or reason. What does it mean to be good and how someone can achieve that ? The Coen bros can only tell us ''Embrace the mystery''.
