The greatest performance ever given by an actor and Jack Lemmon delivers this in his breathtaking Oscar winning role. one of the best films of the year 1973.

Jack Lemmon is a fine actor, and this performance is certainly evidence of that. I just don't know if it's that memorable or worthy of a film. His Oscar was more likely a make-up one for past snubs.

This picture's script is a classic example of the early 1970s' "the modern age is fucked" worldview, a worldview that may have been more rational in 1973 than it is today. (No offense to people who still feel that way.) Because of this, it dates somewhat, and it would be a lie to say this picture doesn't contain a certain number of cliches. But nevertheless, it's a masterfully made film, and the performances are exceptional. I highly recommend it.

I'm happy to see this movie hasn't been totally forgotten. A powerful plot and strong characters keep this movie from feeling dated.

Jack Lemmon (Oscar winner here), as Harry Stoner, in probably the best dramatic performance by a male lead-actor in an American film, and the most sufficient wake-up-call to anyone who bought into the whole superficial "dream" prospect. It's real, it's boring to some, but it's a learning experience for those who haven't really lived yet - especially idealistic professionals. A tragic American event, albeit a true revelation of a film. Save the Tiger is the reason why I don't want a REAL job because the consequences are dire.
