A Necessary Death is an emotional tragedy that serves a purpose as a conversation starter. Watching A Necessary Death is like staring into the eyes of death itself- it's as powerful as they come.

A Necessary Death, despite its provocations, remains timid and dramatized, ultimately favoring plot machinations to considering the issue of suicide more deeply.

Scott Weinberg 19 Mar 2008

A thoroughly engrossing little film that's also quite slyly entertaining, despite its rather unsavory subject matter.

I think it unfortunate the narcissistic director did not actually meet his demise as portrayed. What a sick bunch of individuals to mock suicide. I think it is disgusting to make a hoax of such a painful topic and it actually does the antithesis of what t he film is supposed to do (suicide awareness). Making a mockumentary is in poor taste to say the least.

A Necessary Death presents a wholly original, fascinating and curiously terrifying documentary that's likely to either captivate or revolt audiences.
