Fairly average. Decent enough plot, but labours its point and generally pulls its punches. While trying to come across as a tough expose of the US Air Force, lacked grittiness. Solid acting. Rock Hudson puts in a good performance in the lead role. Some great footage of B-52s, beautiful beasts of the air.

The main rewards of seeing Delbert Mann's mediocre drama are Rock Hudson decently playing an unsympathetic part and the Oscar-nominated sound effects.
