Beyond Ferrell, Wiig and company's superficial assurance at keeping the one-joke premise going (right up to a climactic musical number that elicits a chuckle or two), the film feels disconnected and utterly disposable.

I'm imagining Kristen Wigg and Will Ferrell one day being like "what if we made a Lifetime movie, just because we can?" What results is basically a movie that is just like every other Lifetime movie, to the extent that it becomes easy enough to forget who is starring, and just revel in the campiness.
