the purpose of the movie seemed to be to mock the "real" Journey to the West...none of it made any sense...everything was over the top, just totally a waste of time, nonsense...

Utterly, utterly ridiculous spin on Journey to the West, involving tree demons and galactic warriors. In one scene, the galactic warriors fly down a trench in little fighters to attack the tree demon that has Wukong and co. held captive, and yes, it is done exactly like the Death Star run in Star Wars. Also, Wukong's staff turns into things such as a rocket-powered rollercoaster car, and a mecha-robot with gattling gun, like those ones in Matrix Revolutions. That's pretty much all you need to know.

The ending of this movie dragged and was very frustrating, but the story is classic and sweet.

Not perfect, but as with everything from the Journey to West, infused with the side-effects of an opium overdose or the energy of an uncompromising, unbrindled imagination. So, if you like to go from legendary antics to ufo madness, go for it!

Jeffrey Lau done an outstanding job for Chinese Odyssey part 2 but this is a joke. First, I can't stand how people like Charlene Choi. She's a bad actress. Some scenes were stupid with the galatic powers with Charlene Choi. And Nicholas Tse is a bad actor. The difference between Chinese Odyssey and this is the philosophy.
