Disappointing! It's fair for the first half hour but then drags on to the last. I expect to see a continuation of this classy love story in the first episode of the trilogy, but it fails me.

ensimmainen osa oli vallan mainio kiinalainen romanttinen-fantasia elokuva, mutta valitettavasti tassa toisessaosassa keskitytaan enemman huumoriin ja tokeriin hirvioihin.

Not as good than the first. I had much more hope for this than I should have. Stick to the first movie. For diehards only.

This one is stranger than the first; if that could be possible. Leslie Cheung and Joey Wang return, and fight a Buddhist monastery possessed by giant maggot demons. More crazy fights with lots of Magick and martial arts.

Not quite up to the standards of the first movie, but still a well made Hong Kong film. The story continues smoothly from the first, although Wu Ma is absent for too long! He is kind of replaced by Jackey Cheung who provides, and is the catalyst for, some very funny scenes. Joey Wong and Leslie Cheung work well with each other as expected. But the end of the film didn't quite click with me - it felt they were trying to match the original and as such it feels slightly repetitive. But that is only a minor complaint, the film is highly entertaining and well worth a look.
