There are very few movies that I immediately wanted to watch again and this is one of them. A well crafted story of an illegal immigrant and his son that is both beautifully & tragically real at the same time. Too bad this film isn't about vampires or foul-mouthed slackers, otherwise you probably would have heard of it!

Absolutely great movie. Watched it twice!

An exceptionally fine glimpse into the life of an illegal immigrant in LA -- trying to avoid deportation, while simultaneously steering his son away from the streets. Demien Bichir deserves an Oscar for his performance. The best film of 2011 thus far.

Touching story about a Fathers love for his son.

Amazing film, fantastic acting from Bichir! He is certainly worthy of an Oscar win in this film. The film makes you sympathetic to the illegal immigration issue but most importantly, the film conquers in making a humanist portrait and putting a true, genuine face to illegal immigration that makes you think twice about where you stand.
